ABOUT
The Virgia B. Palmer and Doris Perkins Scholarship fund has been established by generous donations from church members, friends and family of Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Perkins. The funds are held in trust and the granting of those funds as scholarships conforms to the intent of the donors. The Virgia B. Palmer Scholarship fund is administered by the St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Simpson County, MS, in conjunction with the surviving family of Mrs. Palmer.
Each year, the Palmer + Perkins Scholarship committee will release at least one scholarship to a worthy student pursuing his/her college education in the upcoming school year. Since 2010, the Virgia B. Palmer Scholarship fund has awarded $50,000 in scholarship money to eligible students
All of the stated guidelines are amendable at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
The Palmer + Perkins Scholarship fund does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religious preference or sexual orientation.
Applications for this fund are available from the St. John Missionary Baptist Church business office, local Simpson County High Schools, or online.
Applications and all required materials or scholarships must be completed and submitted to the Scholarship Committee via St. John Missionary Baptist Church by April each year.
The scholarship recipient will be announced during a St. John Missionary Baptist Church Service at the discretion of St. John MB Church and the Palmer + Perkins Scholarshipp Committee.
